Portzamparc's Winery at Chateau Cheval Blanc

Posted: | by Great Spaces | Labels: , , , ,

Christian de Portzamparc has designed a wonderfully contemporary winery for Chateau Cheval Blanc in Saint-Emillion, France.  More.

The architect describes it as "a lifting of the earth, raised by sails of concrete towards the light and the sky."  Its rocking, undulating form reminds us of Saarinen or Calatrava's proposal for Denver's Airport.  What do you think?
