This fall, a living room designed by artist Tatzu Nishi will open to the public. In it, you will meet a familiar historical figure. More.
On Sept. 20th, visitors will ascend a winding staircase to spend some time visiting with Christopher Columbus in a living room, high above Columbus Circle. Alright, so it’s only his statue, but for many, it will be the first time to see the statue up close & personal. Mr. Nishi has done this before, he created a similar room to house a beautiful weather vane atop a cathedral in Switzerland, and last year created a hotel room around Singapore’s national monument, the Merlion. Be sure to snag tickets to hang out with Columbus when they become available in the next few weeks. They’ll be on the Public Art Fund’s website.
